Thornbury Castle’s dining rooms must be among the most magnificent in the country and cannot fail to inspire and impress. The Reception is just as important as the ceremony so please do take a look at our rooms and failities.
The Baron’s Sitting Room
This is a delightful dining room for small exclusive private dinners and wedding breakfast’s seating up to 22 people. The room is wood panelled with an imposing original fireplace and deep set windows with views over the courtyard, castle walls and vineyard. The secret cubbyhole in the panelling always makes for an interesting talking point and the overall feel is grand and impressive. A lovely addition to this room is The Chancellor lounge area which offers space for private drinks receptions, champagne and canapés or a small gathering before sitting down for dinner.
The Tudor Hall
We are very proud of our Tudor Hall as there’s nothing else quite like it in the country. It’s a truly magnificent room and features an impressive mullioned window, stone walls adorned with tapestries and paintings, and a huge original fireplace. With a long solid oak refectory table this room is ideal for a larger style wedding breakfast 20 or split round tables for up to 50 people sit down. The Tudor Hall is self-contained and offers complete privacy away from the main part of the hotel. It also has a small private patio. If you are looking for the real castle experience then this rooms offer that and a whole lot more. Added benefit to The Tudor Hall is the welcome area “The Boiling Room” for pre dinner drinks and private toilets before entering into The Grand Tudor Hall.
