Springtime at Thornbury Castle and beyond

A visit to Thornbury Castle at springtime is one of the most colourful and enjoyable throughout the year. The castle gardens begin to come to life with many wildflowers to admire, and for the chocolate lovers out there, we also do an Easter egg hunt for guests staying on our Easter package.

The castle also provides an ideal base to explore the local area, with warmer, longer days upon us, take a look at some of our top recommendations of what to do during your stay with us.

Highgrove is the private residence of Their Majesties The King Charles III and The Queen Consort, near Tetbury in Gloucestershire. With a momentous year ahead for them both, why not blow away the cobwebs and enjoy a refreshing spring walk through what is technically their back garden! Led by an experienced guide, in groups of up to 26 guests, you’ll discover carpets of daffodils, abundant blossom and a host of other seasonal delights. Book your tickets here.

At Thornbury Castle we will be celebrating the King's Coronation in regal style with falconry lessons, a Tudor dress experience, pop-up gin bar and screening the event itself on a large screen. Book your stay on what will be one of those most memorable days of our lives.
